Brian returned to CAR in 2022 after an extended sabbatical and has nearly 9 years of experience at the center, originally from 2011-2019. He also consults with a variety of organizations, including start-up and non-profit industry organizations including the American Center for Mobility (ACM) working as a strategic advisor, supporting corporate relations, strategic partnerships, research, communications, and executing special projects.
Brian is deeply engaged in and advises many organizations in the automotive/mobility ecosystem with market trends, insights and analysis, communications, and navigating the auto/mobility ecosystem. His experience includes materials and manufacturing, sustainability, electrification, and smart mobility.
Brian has been instrumental in broadening CAR’s Affiliates Program as well as helping to develop and convene various research consortiums and working groups including CAR’s Technology Advisory Council, Advanced Propulsion Roundtable, the Southern Automotive Research Alliance, and the Coalition for Automotive Lightweighting Materials.
He has been a volunteer to the Committee on Assessment of Technologies for Improving Light Duty Vehicle Fuel Economy with the National Academies – Division on Engineering and Physical Sciences – Board on Energy and Environmental Systems. He also supported the organization and development of the NRC’s public meeting “Assessment of Technologies for Improving Fuel Economy of Light-Duty Vehicles – Phase 2” (Ann Arbor, MI – Feb.2013), a public forum designed to gather industry input about mass reduction technologies, pathways, and opportunities.
Brian is an active member of the Society of Automotive Analysts, has strong ties with the media, and maintains close relationships across the auto/mobility ecosystem.
